Volunteer Spotlight: Kathy McIntyre

October 16, 2023 | Written by

Meet Kathy McIntyre, one of Hope Bloom’s dedicated volunteers! Kathy came to volunteer at Hope Blooms through her job at US Bank and continues to give her time to support our mission.

Volunteering with Hope Blooms since: 2022

What do you love most about Hope Blooms?
The joy they provide-Not just to the recipient, but to everyone that comes through the door whether to volunteer or drop off donations.

How do you spend your time with Hope Blooms?
I try to volunteer at least once a month-usually I help process the flowers and make bouquets-I hope to help with a delivery soon!

What is your favorite flower and why?
Lilacs-the scent and colors of the flowers-a sign that spring is finally here.

What value do you find volunteering with Hope Blooms?
The spark of joy that can spread from person to person when we are reminded that each person matters-from something as simple as being given flowers and many times those flowers that are being repurposed are gifted to Hope Blooms from families experiencing great joy like a wedding or as a final goodbye and remembrance of a family member that has died.
