Meet Angela Escher, Hope Blooms volunteer!
Karina, our volunteer coordinator shares this about Angela: “Angela has boundless giving spirit. She volunteers in every capacity at Hope Blooms, embodying the very essence of compassion. Angela’s presence brings joy to all who interact with her. We are so grateful for Angela’s unwavering commitment and the love she pours into every task at Hope Blooms.”
What do you love most about Hope Blooms?
I love the genuinely wonderful people I have the privilege of being surrounded by whenever I am there. The mission of spreading kindness is felt in every corner of Hope Blooms and it truly has become my happy place where I can forget about the hard things for awhile and focus on something brimming full of light and joy and goodness. My kids have also had many opportunities to participate alongside me and have truly began to see and understand and find the joy in doing something good for others. They love every chance they get to be at Hope Blooms too!!
How do you spend your time with Hope Blooms?
I was introduced to Hope Blooms by attending a group volunteer event my work peers and I did together and was inspired by the mission and people I met, and now I lead group volunteer events each month myself!
I also like to scrub and shine the big sink in the back room when I have extra time…it makes me happy to see it shining and proud each time!
What is your favorite flower and why?
Hydrangeas, daisies, tulips, and peonies, all are flowers I have strong memories connected with my grandmas and my mom from time spent with each of them growing up. But really, I love so many flowers! Stock are one of my absolute favorites as well for no reason other than I think they’re so pretty but have the worst name!
What value do you find volunteering with Hope Blooms?
To be seen and valued in a moment or place where that sometimes is difficult to find is what so many of us desire. Flowers are a beautiful way to foster magical moments of connection, and to visually remind each other that we all have worth wherever we might be, or whatever we might be facing today. And the community that Hope Blooms brings together to drive forward the mission of loving on others is such a blessing to me personally as well – being a part of that fills me with a feeling of purpose and belonging, and I know I’m not the only one!
