Navy Fleetweek 2024

We were incredibly honored to host numerous U.S. Navy Sailors during their annual Fleet Week visit to Fargo at the end of June. The sailors spent 2 days as Joymakers visiting the Fargo VA Hospital, SMP Health-St. Catherine’s South and creating bouquets in the shop.

Visiting veterans was an emotional experience for all as many of the veterans served in the Navy and were able to share their memories and stories with the sailors. Sailors expressed gratitude for the veterans’ service to our country, and residents shared thanks for their visit. This reminded us once again of the true importance of our mission: connecting with and reminding community members that they matter.

Megan, from the Navy Office of Community Outreach sent us these kind words: “I can’t express how grateful I am for Hope Blooms opening their doors to us and allowing us to volunteer. I know that event impacted the Sailors and me just as much, if not more, than the Veterans we were giving flowers to.”
