Board Member Spotlight: Norm Clark

September 30, 2024 | Written by

Meet Norm Clark, Hope Blooms Board Member!

Norm Clark recently joined the Hope Blooms Board of Directors, bringing a wealth of experience from his work in leadership development. His involvement with Hope Blooms began in early 2024 with Giving Hearts Day, and it grew through team volunteering experiences, eventually leading to his role on the board.

Norm sees firsthand how Hope Blooms makes a significant impact in the community. He believes that these small yet meaningful gestures create connections and spread joy to those who need it most — reminding us all of the power of kindness and community.

“Norm is passionate about the power of volunteerism and giving back to the community,” said Kelly Krenzel, Hope Blooms founder. “We’re so grateful to continue learn and grow under Norm’s kind, generous and thoughtful leadership.”

How are you involved with Hope Blooms?
I’ve had the opportunity to recently join the board of directors. In the past, I’ve partnered with Hope Blooms for leadership team development with my local Gate City Bank Retail Leaders. It was a remarkable team building experience!

How did you first hear about Hope Blooms?
Through local team members volunteering and through the 2024 Giving Hearts Day event through the Dakota Medical Foundation.

Why do you choose to volunteer with Hope Blooms?
The impact being made with flowers being processed and delivered to so many local facilities is incredible. The connection made through those deliveries shows how our community and organization can really make a difference in the lives of others.

Why is giving back in your community important to you?
Volunteerism is so important to make a positive impact in our community. We can all influence how people feel and ultimately live and thrive in our community. At the end of the day, we all should want to leave the world a little bit better than we found it.

In what ways do you see Hope Blooms bringing value to our community?
Spreading joy and smiles to those that may not normally get to experience it regularly. Restoring relevancy and self-worth with human
interaction through the gift of flowers and time. It’s not complicated; but it is very intentional.

What’s your favorite way to spread joy and kindness?
Positive words and encouragement to those that are experiencing difficulty. I enjoy helping people experience an “aha moment” when
navigating through challenging situations and assisting or guiding them through it to a successful outcome.
