Joymaker of the Month: Pam Heupel

Meet Pam Heupel, Hope Blooms August Joymaker of the month!
Volunteer since: January 2026
“I’ve always thought of Pam as our sunflower. I first met her at a Joymaker volunteering event, where she chose a sunflower as the flower that brings her joy, and it fits her perfectly. She has a way of bringing warmth and positivity wherever she goes,” says Nicole Pearson, community engagement manager at Hope Blooms. “We’ve loved having her join us on Flower Empower and Petal it Forward programming, she has a natural gift for making others feel seen. We’re so grateful for the joy and sunshine she brings to Hope Blooms every time she walks through our doors!”
How do you spend your time at Hope Blooms?
I join the Hope Blooms team out on Petal it Forward deliveries and Flower Empower programming. I also help make bouquets at the shop, water the garden and help with processing flowers.
What do you love most about Hope Blooms?
The smiles it brings to peoples’ faces when they realize the flowers are for them! It brings them happiness, no matter what their circumstances are. I also love how warm and friendly the staff are at Hope Blooms. They make you feel like you want to come back and volunteer! It’s so amazing to work with flowers and know that it’s a good cause and brings joy to community members.
What value do you see Hope Blooms bringing to our community?
Hope Blooms shows people that their community cares for them, and the volunteers and staff geniunely want to do something that will add joy to that persons’ life. Starting out as flowers that would’ve been thrown away, watching them be repurposed to make someone’s day is incredible to watch.
What is your favorite flower?
A Sunflower!
