July 2, 2026 | Written by
Meet Jolynn Thurston, Hope Blooms July Joymaker of the month!
“One of the things I admire most about Jolynn is that she’s always willing to help wherever she’s needed,” said Nicole Pearson, community engagement manager at Hope Blooms. “She approaches every opportunity with a positive attitude and an open heart, whether she’s washing jars, participating in Flower Empower programming or mentoring youth. Her warm smile, genuine conversations, kind heart and incredible taste in music brighten every volunteer shift. She has a special way of lifting the spirits of everyone around her, and Hope Blooms is better because she’s part of it.”
Volunteer since: 2025
How do you spend your time at Hope Blooms?
At Hope Blooms, I help build bouquets with the donated flowers, and I help with the cleaning of donated jars we use for the bouquets!
What do you love most about Hope Blooms?
Joymaking [bouquet making], of course! I’ve also loved getting to know my fellow volunteers and the Hope Blooms employees.
What value do you see Hope Blooms bringing to our community?
What brings people more joy than flowers?! To know that other people get to experience the same joy that volunteers get by arranging them is such a great story. As volunteers, we get to be a small but fulfilling part of a lot of our community members’ daily lives.
What is your favorite flower?
A Daisy!
Anything else you’d like to add?
I feel very fortunate and grateful to be a part of this great organization. It’s brought me much peace and joy just to get out in the community and make a difference.
