Meet Carina Sprenger, Hope Blooms volunteer Joymaker of the month!

“Carina is the kind of volunteer every organization hopes for. She is always willing to jump in wherever she’s needed, and she approaches every Flower Empower and Petal It Forward event with warmth, patience and a caring spirit,” said Becky Aamodt, Hope Blooms program & events manager. “She takes the time to connect with each resident, making them feel seen, valued and loved. We’re so grateful for the joy and compassion she shares with our community!”

How do you spend your time at Hope Blooms?
From processing fresh flowers and creating bouquets to preparing jars, cleaning the shop, packing boxes and bouquet deliveries, I truly enjoy each and every task.

What do you love most about Hope Blooms?
The mission and simple message of “you matter.” Each delivery is so special, and it brings me just as much joy as it does to those receiving our beautiful bouquets. As a recent retiree, Hope Blooms fills my cup by giving me a meaningful way to spread joy in the community.

What value do you see Hope Blooms bringing to our community?
Every bouquet we create and deliver is more than just flowers. It’s a personal message of bringing love and joy to those who need a day brightener. It can be unexpected for some but for those that are familiar with Hope Blooms and our mission, they’re just as excited to either build or receive their own bouquet. The excitement and gratitude we bring to the community is very rewarding.
I love helping team building events with local businesses that partner with Hope Blooms. The excitement and buzz around building bouquets is so much fun to watch. Plus, they get to step away from the daily work grind and bond with each other, all while serving a purpose together.

What is your favorite flower?
Gerbera Daisy — because it turns to face the sun throughout the day. That’s why this flower has been associated with looking on the bright side of life.
