Community Partner Profile: Farmstead Living

September 9, 2025 | Written by

Since 2018, Hope Blooms has partnered with Farmstead Living in Moorhead to deliver joy, kindness and connection. Through our Petal It Forward deliveries, we’ve shared more than 1,500 bouquets, and with our Flower Empower program, numerous residents have created their own arrangements—filling the room with laughter, creativity and community. Farmstead residents have also visited the Hope Blooms’ shop to volunteer their time, creating bouquets and helping around the shop.

Founded in 2015 by Moorhead native Roger Erickson, Farmstead Living is a locally owned assisted living community offering a continuum of care, from assisted living to advanced and memory care. With bright, welcoming spaces and a focus on safety, Farmstead creates a place where residents can truly feel at home.

We are honored to partner with Farmstead Living, uniting our shared mission to show residents that even the smallest gestures of kindness can remind us of what truly matters: connection, compassion and joy.

What kind of impact do you see Hope Blooms having on your residents?
We love it when Hope Blooms comes to Farmstead! The volunteers are day makers, and their visits bring so much joy to our residents and staff. We often hear residents talk about a certain flower or floral arrangement that reminds them of a time in the past that was special. These flowers spark memories, provide comfort, and brighten the quietest of days.

Do you have a favorite memory or story from a flower delivery?
The smiles after a delivery!!!  But truly, the bouquet-making activities are a blast for both residents and staff. The chatter and laughter are infectious. We love to see individual creativity and the talent our residents possess!

What does kindness and connection mean to Farmstead Living?
Kindness and connection are what transform a facility into a home. Whether it’s through shared meals, group activities, or nursing care, we want to make people feel seen and valued. Connecting with others fuels the spirit! We understand that the smallest gesture can make a person’s day.

How do small gestures—like flower deliveries—play a role in the wellbeing of those you serve?
At Farmstead Living, we’ve seen firsthand how small gestures—like flower deliveries— have a positive impact on the emotional and mental wellbeing of our residents.
