Learn more about Courtney:

How are you involved with Hope Blooms?
I recently joined the board in January, and I am looking forward to getting more involved in community events!

How did you first hear about Hope Blooms?
I used to coordinate volunteer opportunities with a prior organization, so I was familiar with Hope Blooms and their mission. I heard of the board opportunity through a prior board member and decided to reach out!

Why do you choose to volunteer with Hope Blooms?
I felt a lack of fulfillment and wanted to help support my community. I love the joy that Hope Blooms brings to our community and knew I wanted to be apart of it.

Why is giving back in your community important to you?
I was born and raised in this community, and I think it’s so fun to see how much our community has grown and continues to lift each other up through people dedicating their time and talents, especially to smaller businesses and nonprofits. I think it is super important for people to give their talents to help continue making our community better.

In what ways do you see Hope Blooms bringing value to our community?
I think the main thing is the joyful moments that are spread to people that aren’t seen everyday or people who don’t have those special connections. It’s a great way to connect with individuals in our community and spread love and joy.

What’s your favorite way to spread joy and kindness?
Lately, I have loved hosting girls nights and making bouquets to take home and add some joy into our homes, in inspiration of Hope Blooms! I also think that finding little things that people enjoy, whether it’s their favorite treats or drinks and surprising them with it is something so special. The small acts of kindness are truly able to bring joy to people when they least expect it.

Name one of the most joyful moments in your life.
The second I became a mom, it was a whole new level of joy in life. They always bring joy when you need it the most, and getting to watch them experience life for the first time is something nothing can compare to.

What is your favorite flower and why?
I really like all sorts of lilies. I love that there is such a wide variety and colors you can choose from. I also really love hydrangeas, the fullness of them is beautiful, and I think they are so pretty in landscapes.

Share a little about yourself and your family.
I am a Fargo native, still living and working here! I live on a hobby farm right outside of Glyndon. We have a few little animals and a very large garden. I live with my husband, two little kiddos and our dog. We spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer time, enjoying the lake and our property. We do lots of gardening, canning and spending time with family!
